About Us

Where it Began

Tony Zangoglia and Brian Lucas grew up in neighboring blue collar towns in New Jersey, where they became friends while competing in local sports. They went on to earn degrees at Clemson University and West Point before joining the U.S. Army. They were introduced to the beauty of Colorado in 2008 when they were both stationed at Fort Carson. In the years since, they pursued civilian careers with Fortune 200 companies that fueled their passion for customer service. They have rejoined forces as co-owners of Sunnyside Builders, using their leadership skills to help the Denver Metro Area flourish.

Our belief in people has led to the development of a highly skilled and motivated team, capable of overcoming any challenge. That team extends to many of the outside organizations that are integral in the completion of a successful project.

Brian Lucas

Co-Owner & CFO

Brian grew up in a family of New York City dock builders, the first inspiration for his hardworking and goal-oriented leadership style. After West Point and service in the Army, Brian embarked on a career in sales for Johnson & Johnson and EMC. He holds an MBA from Seton Hall University with a focus in General Management, building upon his leadership skills and practical experience. At Sunnyside Builders, Brian promises to deliver quality, accountability, and outstanding customer service.

Tony Zangoglia IV

Co-Owner & CEO

Tony has a passion for building unique homes and providing customized personal service to his clients. After moving to the Sunnyside neighborhood in 2012, Tony followed his passion for building and customer service. He established Sunnyside Builders in 2012 as a tribute to the neighborhood that inspired him to pursue his dreams. As a lifelong engineer, Tony has previously been in aerospace quality assurance, the Army Corps of Engineers, and received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Carter Layne

President of Construction

Carter is a New Jersey native with 13 years’ experience leading building projects for the U.S. Army. As a Company Commander for a Combat Engineer Company and a Construction Engineer Company in the Army, Carter’s leadership, planning, and problem solving skills are second to none. Since honorably departing the military, Carter continues to pursue his passion for building in the Denver area, specializing in core and shell and multifamily projects. Carter has a B.A. in Business Management and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Construction Management.

Bobby Miner

Project Engineer

Bobby is a West Point graduate, New York City native, and enthusiastic convert to the Colorado way of life. His diverse experiences as an officer in the Army have given him a unique perspective on holistic, solutions-oriented problem solving and have provided a crucible for his lifelong passion of team leadership. After the Army, Bobby cultivated a mindset focused on satisfying complex customer needs as he excelled in diagnostic sales for Thermo Fisher Scientific. He brings exceptional enthusiasm, work ethic, and talent to the team at Sunnyside.

Casey Kielblock

Project Manager

Casey is a Penn State Graduate, New Jersey native, and third generation carpenter who gained his construction knowledge in a first-hand capacity. In addition, he has worked as a Realtor which helped him hone his project management skills and develop a keen awareness of home buyer needs. He has a passion for the outdoors and that is where you will find him when he is not working. He enjoys hiking, camping, and road tripping with his wife Jaclyn and golden retriever Sawyer. He is excited to finally call Colorado home and brings that enthusiasm with him to Sunnyside Builders.

Quentin Randazzo

Superintendent

Quentin is a New Jersey native who came to Colorado in pursuit of his passion for an active, outdoor lifestyle. He is a highly motivated individual who has a passion for construction, a passion that was cultivated through his time in the Dock Builder’s Union in New Jersey. While living in New Jersey, he volunteered with the local fire department and earned the status of full-fledged Firefighter after only a year. In his free time Quentin enjoys working out, hiking, fishing, and snowboarding.

Nate Thurber

Warranty/Superintendent

Nate grew up on a New York dairy farm, where his grandparents taught him the value of problem solving and hard work from a young age. That work ethic allowed him to start a successful concrete company at the age of 21, and he has been honing his talents for construction ever since. Before coming to Sunnyside Builders, he ran his own home remodeling company, and brings deep insight and a broad range of skills to the team. When Nate is not striving to build incredible homes, you can find him on the baseball diamond, coaching his sons, Caleb and Luke, or spending time with his wife Lizmar, who is the worship pastor at their church.

Deya Puckorious

Office Manager

Deya Puckorious grew up in Texas before moving to Colorado in 2017 with her high school sweetheart, Garrett, and their Australian shepherd, Hercules. She is new to the construction industry, but she brings sharp business acumen and exceptional enthusiasm to the front office. She honed her natural abilities at Texas State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. Deya will always be grateful for her Texas roots but she is excited for the opportunities that Colorado provides. She will continue to hike, try new recipes, push her limits cycling, and get lost in all that the outdoors have to offer.

Maxemiliano Cintora

Assistant Superintendent

Max is a student at Colorado Mesa University, pursuing his B.S. in Construction Management. He has called the Colorado Front Range home since he was seven. When he is back in Denver on a break from school, he interns with Sunnyside Builders, and is able to apply the knowledge he accumulates in the classroom, and combine it with the practical knowledge of being in the field. In his free time, Max enjoys spending time with friends, going to the gym, and snowboarding.

Brooke Weber

Marketing

Brooke was Sunnyside Builders’ office manager from April 2019 – April 2020. She moved back to Kansas in order to pursue her masters degree in Physical Therapy. Brooke still works with Sunnyside Builders doing book keeping, marketing, and other important tasks while working remotely.
